The only offering from Schwinn for rowers is the Windrigger. It's on the higher end of pricing and uses air resistance.

The Schwinn Rowing Machine is a good rower with a long warranty and good ergonomics, the only problem is that in this price range, that's not enough of a reason to buy one.

When you compare the Schwinn against the Kettler Coach and Lifecore, it would seem that Schwinn dropped the ball on this rowing machine. Or did they?

Schwinn has chosen to use wind resistance on their rower (like the Bodycraft vr100) instead of magnetic resistance on the Kettler and Tunturi.

The advantage of wind resistance is that it more closely simulates real water rowing. The faster you row, the more resistance you're up against...

To most rowing machine buyers, the type of resistance won't be a significant purchase factor, as most people want a good workout regardless of whether it's air, or a magnet they're working against.

One disadvantage the Schwinn has using wind resistance is that it isn't adjustable unless you're working harder. With a magnetic resistance, you can tune it and tweak it to get the perfect amount of resistance at the touch of a button...

I would pass on the Schwinn Rowing Machine at this price and get Kettler Coach Rower if you want magnetic resistance, or checkout the Bodycraft vr100 that's a similar rowing machine, yet costs up to $500 less...
