Total Trainer DLX Home Gym

I used to be a big fan of the Total Gym 1700 Club, that's until my wife and I got our hands on some of the Total Trainer Gym's from Bayou Fitness.

The Total Trainer DLX is the base model glide board gym from Bayou, and is aimed squarely at the Total Gym 1700 is both price and functionality.

Instead of just copying the Total Gym 1700 and knocking a few bucks off the price, Bayou decided to blow the lid off the feature and value set by including features and construction details you wouldn't expect on a gym at this price point.

For example, the DLX comes standard with features like a deluxe 2" double stitched box cushion, a 14" x 42" glide board, and 10 levels of resistance (4-69% of your body weight + additional weights can be added to the weight bar) that either aren't available on a comparable Total Gym, or would cost you hundreds of dollars more..

Total Trainer DLX Specs

  • Fully assembled
  • 10 Levels of Resistance
  • 385 Pound User Capacity
  • Maximum User Height 6' 2"
  • 14" x 42" Glide Board
  • Super Tuff TPU-90-AE Roller and Axle System
  • Lift from 4% to 69% of Your Body Weight
  • Oversized Castors for Easy Transport
  • Deluxe 2" Double Stitched Box Cushion

Included Accessories: Sit-up Cuff Strap, Power Weight Bar for Adding Free Weights, Pull-up Push-up Bar, Heavy Duty Squat Board, Independent Twin Handles, Dual Leg Cuffs, Strength Training DVD, Four Program Cards, Instructional Manual and Guide

Just because you get more features for your money, that doesn't mean you should run out and buy one - you've also got to consider the quality of the construction, the warranty and how the gym performs in the real world.

My wife and I put the Total Trainer DLX (and it's siblings, the DLX III, Power Pro and Pilates Pro Trainer) through real world training sessions in our heavily used home gym and my wife's personal training studio.

The Total Trainer DLX took all forms of client and personal use (and abuse) without missing a beat. In fact, we had many clients trying to buy this sturdy little gym right on the spot when they got done training on it.

If you've considered buying a Total Gym, don't. That is until you give the Total Trainer DLX or one of it's big brothers a try - you'll be glad you did.
