Polar F6 Review
If you're considering getting a heart rate monitor, do
yourself a favor and get a polar like the F6 - I know there are other
budget heart rate monitors from Reebok, Nike and others that look like
a better deal, but the Polars have proven themselves year after year
to be the best on the market.

Polar F6 Heart Rate Monitor
The Polar F6 isn't the cheapest heart rate monitor Polar
makes, but in my opinion it's the cheapest option you should consider
for your workouts.
The reason I don't recommend monitors like the FS1, FS3,
and F4 is that the F6 has a coded transmitter. That means you can bring
to the health club and use it on any Polar compatible equipment like
treadmills, ellipticals, steppers and rowing machines.
If that's not enough to convince you to get the F6, it
also has Polar OwnCal that shows your energy expenditure during one
exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several
exercise sessions.
You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of
calorie expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks
both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated
kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving
both short term and long term fitness goals.
