Nordictrack CX 938 Elliptical Trainer
The Nordictrack CX 938 is their entry level elliptical and is a lower end machine than both the Nordictrack 998, and CX 1055. It's a very similar machine to the Reebok 525, as they are both made by the large fitness conglomerate known as Icon Health and Fitness.
The CX 938 elliptical has a lot of features that are appealing, especially if you're on a limited budget. You get 10 built-in programs, 18" stride length, and iFit compatibility. That's a pretty nice package, but...
If you're on a limited budget, you'll find a lot to like about the CX 938. There are plenty of built-in workouts to chose from, the stride length is a healthy 18" and it even offers the iFit workouts that you can plug in and train with.
Key Specs on the Nordictrack CX 938 Elliptical:
The only real knock against this Nordictrack is that the breaking and resistance are controlled by silent magnetic, instead of Eddy Current.
That's not enough of a reason to skip this machine however, as most ellipticals under about $700 suffer from the same problem.
When you compare the 938 elliptical against the very similar Reebok 525, you'll discover that the 938 gives you more for your money with a couple of extras thrown in like the Training Zone Indicator, 2 additional workouts and the carb counter.
Would I buy a Nordictrack CX 938 elliptical? No, I'd upgrade.
The Nordictrack 938 is a good machine, but the Nordictrack 998 CX is a better value for the money if you want a Nordictrack Elliptical.
