Smooth 6.45 vs Smooth 9.35hr vs Sole F85
Question
If space is not an issue, which of the 3 treadmills would you suggest getting? The Smooth 6.45 Treadmill or the Smooth 9.35HR Treadmill or the Sole F85 Treadmill? They are priced the same. It will be used for 1 hour a day for both running and walking - thanks!!
Answer
Wow, a triple comparison - I think I'm up for it, so here it goes! I'll do a short overview on the blog here and give you a PDF sheet you can download that has all the specs laid out in a nice spread sheet for easy reading.
First of all, as far as the price being the same on all three treadmills, that's not 100% true all the time (easy mistake to make and that's why you come to the expert).
The price of the Sole F85 remains fairly constant at $1999 and includes free shipping. The Smooth 6.45 Treadmill is usually priced at $1688 but can fluctuate in the $1700 to mid $1800 range depending on the time of year and what other treadmills Smooth has on sale. Same goes for the Smooth 9.35HR Treadmill, it can usually be had for around $2000 but fluctuates between $1988 and $2200.
Now for my recommendation on which treadmill I would get between the three candidates (head-to-head-to-head). When you cut through all the marketing mumbo-jumbo and bullet point lists on the manufacturer's websites and compare each treadmill's vital stats like horsepower, incline, running surface, treadbelt, rollers, heart rate control and warranty information there is a clear winner in my mind.
I recommend the Sole F85 Treadmill for its' strong motor, large running surface, huge weight capacity, long warranty and proven reliability (download my PDF treadmill comparison spreadsheet here to see how these treadmills stack up head to head).
