Gazelle Elliptical Knee Pain

Question

Due to knee surgery I can no longer go for brisk walks or runs, I love cardio workouts.  Would you recommend the gazelle for a low impact workout and does it live up to its standards?

Answer

The Tony Little Gazelle elliptical is a pretty basic machine for people on a tiny budget. Does it give a good workout? Yes, to a degree, but not as good as a true elliptical with adjustable magnetic resistance. I do recommend the Tony Little Gazelle for rank beginners (read full review for details) but for someone like you that loves cardio I think you'll be disappointed in the workout you're going to get.

Before you run out and buy a new elliptical trainer, treadmill or exercise bike make sure you get clearance from your doctor for your knee condition. I'm not telling you not to workout, but to take it slow and follow the proper rehab for your knee. You only get one chance to rehab and make your injury better, so don't do anything hasty that you'll regret for years to come.
